Coronavirus Update 11 May 2022

“I am saddened to report that we have had another coronavirus related death since our last update,” said Acting Minister of Health, the Hon Walter Roban. “I extend condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 8805 test results, and 303 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 3.4%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Tuesday: 46 positive out of 1266 results (3.6% positivity)

·Wednesday:  34 positive out of  1316 results (2.6% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 27 April 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 10069 test results, and 345 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 3.0%.

These results are from testing done on:

·Tuesday: 57 positive out of 1639 results (3.5% positivity)

·Wednesday:  52 positive out of  1515 results (3.4% positivity)

·Thursday: 37 positive out of 1726 results (2.1% positivity)

·Friday: 60 positive out of 1713 results (3.5% positivity)

·Saturday: 39 positive out of 838 results (4.7% positivity)

Coronavirus Update 6 April 2022

I am sad to report that Bermuda has had another coronavirus related death,” said Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “I extend my condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 7112 test results, and 147 were positive for the coronavirus, giving a test positivity rate of 2.06%.

These results are from testing done on:

· Wednesday: 31 positive out of 1957 results (1.6% positivity)

· Thursday: 25 positive out of 1622 results (1.5% positivity)

Coronavirus Technical Briefing Minister of Health’s Remarks 31 March 2022

Good afternoon.

I begin my remarks today with the sad news that Bermuda has recorded another coronavirus related death since our last update. I extend my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

This unhappy news reinforces for all of us that, unfortunately, the pandemic is still with us – and will be with us for a long time, both locally and globally.

Coronavirus Update March 21 2022

Since the last update, the Ministry of Health received 5140 test results, and 137 were positive for the coronavirus. 

These results are from testing done on:

•        Wednesday:  35 positive out of  1873 results (1.9% positivity)

•        Thursday: 36 positive out of 1413 results (2.5% positivity)

•        Friday: 38 positive out of 1089 results (3.5% positivity)

•        Saturday: 28 positive out of 765 results (3.7% positivity)

8 of the new cases is classified as imported with a history of travel in the previous 14 days.

COVID-19 Guidance and Recommendations

From 31 March 2022, you must wear a face mask indoors when the business, shop or office you are entering has a mask mandate. This will be clearly displayed at the entrance. If masks are optional, then you do not need to wear one. Please note, currently, face masks are mandatory in treatment areas of both hospitals and when visiting or working at Corrections facilities. All customers, clients and staff must comply with the mask policy of the business. Face masks have proven to be effective in reducing the spread of infection.
