Update on T.N. Tatem student transition to Clearwater

The Department of Education today gave special recognition to students, teachers, the Department of Public Transportation (PTB) and mini bus operators who all worked together to smoothly manage the first days of student transition from T.N. Tatem to Clearwater Middle school.

Acting Commissioner of Education, Dr. Freddie Evans stated, “This successful transition is model of what Bermuda needs right now – a community of sharing and caring and professional collaboration. The initial success of this strong merger is a reflection of strong, positive leadership and a willingness to put children first. It was dynamic to see children from Warwick and St George's walking to class together, and starting on a positive note as a shared school community.”

Dr Evans added, “I wish to thank Clearwater Principal, Keisha Douglas and her staff who welcomed T.N. Tatem principal, Francine McMahon and her staff. Together they are working in the best interest of our students. We also wish to give a special acknowledgement to parents who have been diligently working with us to provide a safe learning environment for our students.”
