Temporary Suspension of Railway Trail Access for Bermuda End to End Event

The Ministry of Public Works, in collaboration with the Department of Parks, wishes to inform the public of the temporary restriction of access to the Railway Trail.

This measure is being undertaken in the interest of public safety and to accommodate the annual Bermuda End to End event.

Date of Restriction: Saturday, 27 April 2024

Hours: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Access to the Railway Trail will be limited during these hours to ensure the safety and smooth running of the Bermuda End to End event.

Members of the public participating in the event by cycling, including those on electric bikes, scooters, rollerblades, and similar modes of transport, must use the designated cycling route specifically outlined for the event.

To ensure the safety of the large number of participants and to minimise disruptions, the Railway Trail will be accessible only to pedestrians on this day.

The Department of Parks kindly requests that those not participating in the End to End event and wishing to use the trail for activities other than walking make alternative arrangements during the specified times.

The Ministry and the Department of Parks are committed to ensuring the safety of all trail users and event participants and appreciate the public's cooperation and understanding in adhering to these temporary restrictions.

It is imperative to remember that, as per section 9 of the National Parks Regulations, 1988, riding or driving in a manner that may endanger others is prohibited.

The Ministry and the Department thank the public in advance for their cooperation and look forward to a successful Bermuda End to End event.
