Tea at Government House to Celebrate the 90th Birthday of HM The Queen

Government House has announced that as part of the celebrations taking place around the world on HM The Queen’s 90th Birthday the Governor, Mr George Fergusson, and Mrs Fergusson will host a tea party for around 30 Bermuda residents who were born in Bermuda within a month of The Queen’s birthday on 21 April 1926.

A tree will be planted to mark Her Majesty’s Birthday; and at 7.30 pm in the evening, a beacon will be lit in Government House Gardens, part of a chain of such celebratory beacons being lit across Overseas Territories, Crown Dependencies and the UK, as well as in many other Commonwealth countries.

More formal events marking the Birthday will take place in June, when by tradition The Queen’s Official Birthday is held.
