Senior Public Service appointments

Today, the Acting Head of the Public Service, Cherie Whitter, advised Mr. Kirk Outerbridge will assume the role of Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Works.

Mr. Outerbridge is the Chief Engineer for the Ministry of Public Works. He’s a mechanical engineer and a registered Professional Engineer in both Bermuda and Canada.

He has over 20 years of experience in the Waste industry, including 15 years directly managing the Tyne’s Bay Waste to Energy Facility.

Mr. Outerbridge takes up his acting assignment following the departure of Randy Rochester, who stepped down last week from the Bermuda Government after 40 years of service (see separate press release detailing Mr. Rochester's career in Government here: Randy Rochester retirement).

Additionally, it should be noted that Pandora Glasford has now been formally appointed to the post of Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Tourism and the Cabinet Office. Mrs. Glasford’s substantive appointment took effect August 1, 2023.
