Request For Proposals (RFP): Supply Of Low Emission Public Transit Buses

The Ministry of Tourism and Transport and the Department of Public Transportation (DPT) has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to qualified suppliers of Low Emissions Public Transit Buses. DPT is seeking proposals for appropriately sized, accessible, and low emissions buses for Bermuda. The RFP specifies two sizes of bus and is open to electric, diesel and hybrid diesel-electric vehicles. DPT and Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) recently concluded a Request for Information (RFI) process as part of a feasibility study on reducing the carbon footprint of the public transportation fleet. The findings were encouraging and highlight the opportunity to acquire buses that meet local regulations and customer needs, while being both environmentally and financially sustainable. The RFP document is located on the Government website and the closing date for submissions is 16 September 2019. To view the document, visit https://www.gov.bm/procurement/request-proposals-low-emission-public-transit-buses
