Public Cautioned About Fake Email Scams in Circulation

The Ministry of Labour advises the public of two fake emails in circulation. One claims to be an offer of assistance from the Department of Financial Assistance. The other is a COVID-19 status validation request from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in partnership with the Government.

If you receive or have received either of the following correspondence (email sample attached), please ignore and immediately delete:

  1. Email from aefoggo@northrock.bm with the subject line "New Grant -Bermuda Government" that includes a link to 'View Application Tutorial'.
  2. Email from luciabotelho1@northrock.bm with the subject line "Your Covid-19 status", which includes a link to "Validate Your Covid-19 status here" that appears to be signed by "Health Care".

As a reminder, the Department of Financial Assistance does not notify individuals by email and there is no online process for applications at this time.

With regard to matters relating to COVID-19, all official emails come from the Government of Bermuda COVID-19 Response Team at BermudaCovidVaccine@resqwest.com. You can also contact the Vaccine hotline on 444-2498 and select Option #2, or email vaccinecertificates@gov.bm
