Premier the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP, today expressed his congratulations to the Rt. Rev. Silvester Scott Beaman who was elected and consecrated a Bishop in the AME Church at the recently concluded General Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Premier Burt stated, “Bishop Beaman is fondly remembered for his time in Bermuda as the pastor of St. Paul AME Church. He came to Bermuda as a young man and his two daughters were born here. His work in Bermuda and in Wilmington, Delaware has led to his elevation to the Bench of Bishops. He and his wife Renee are poised to make even greater contributions to the Church and to those who they will now serve.”
Bishop Beaman delivered the benediction at the January inauguration of President Biden and Vice-President Harris. He is assigned to the 15th Episcopal District which includes Angola, Cape, Boland, Eastern Cape, Kalahari, Namibia, and Queenstown.
