Premier and Ministers Present Gifts to the Hon. Beres Hammond

During the Cup Match Summer Splash, One Love One Life Concert held over the weekend, Premier and Minister of Finance, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP, thanked the Grammy-nominated reggae artist, the Hon. Beres Hammond, for his musical contributions. The Premier also recognized that Mr. Hammond has been traveling to and performing in Bermuda since 1975.The Premier was joined on stage by the Minister of Social Development and Sports, the Hon. Michael Weeks, JP, MP, and the Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, the Hon. Jamahl Simmons, JP, MP, who presented a handmade Gombey doll and a cedar tray with the map of Bermuda engraved on it, respectively. The Gombey doll was made by Mrs. Janice Warner-Tucker and the tray by Mr. Anthony Flood who is an inmate at the Department of Corrections.
