Parent Engagement Session on Cambridge Curriculum and Standards-Based Grading

The Department of Education will hold parent engagement sessions on topics of importance to parents, namely the Cambridge Curriculum and Standards-Based Grading.  Notification of the meetings have been distributed throughout the schools, however, the Ministry is today reminding parents, parent council and PTA members to attend the first session on:

Introduction to Cambridge Curriculum
Parent Engagement Session
Thursday November 17th, 2016
5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
The CedarBridge Academy Cafetorium

This session is a great opportunity for parents learn more about the Cambridge Curriculum and Cambridge International Examinations. This session follows positive feedback from a similar session offered last year for Parent Council members and PTA heads who recommended that all parents be given the chance to learn more about this important topic and ask questions on this topic directly to the Department of Education.

Parents will be given the chance to test their knowledge and skills with real test questions and get a better understanding of student expectations.

The second session is for parents to learn more about Standards-Based Grading, which is being introduced throughout the public education system from the primary through senior school levels.  Standards-Based Grading will lead to more focused teaching and improved grading practices for the benefit of all students.  This session will take place on:

Wednesday November 30th, 2016
5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
