"The festive atmosphere at the Volunteer Appreciation Event and Opening of the 7th Annual Student Art & Digital Competition at Masterworks on June 30th showcased the creativity of Bermuda's talented young artists and honoured volunteers as the heartbeat of our community." said The Minister of Social Development and Seniors, The Hon. Tinee Furbert JP, MP.
The Mirrors 7th Annual Art & Digital Competition has the theme 'My Happy Place,' and the public is encouraged to support our young artists by visiting the exhibit at the Masterworks Museum before July 25th to cast a People's Choice Award vote.
Minister Furbert emphasised the pivotal role played by the volunteers, stating, "Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart," quoting Elizabeth Andrew.
Mirrors Acting Programme Manager, Ms. Jeanene Todd, shared, "Thank you for giving your time, for we can never repay you. Thank you for being committed, it made a difference. Thank you for saying yes, you have impacted so many. The Mirrors Programme couldn't have been as successful without your involvement. With deepest gratitude for your commitment to serve, we say thank you.
"Each year, we receive support from the community to produce successful programmes, and each year The Mirrors Team and the Mirrors Alumni and Friends Association (MAFA) strive to acknowledge those outstanding volunteers who go beyond their commitment to ensure our mission of 'Transforming the community, one person at a time,' is met."
This is the sixth year that we have formally honoured volunteers and service partners. For the 2022-23 programming cycle, we highlighted:

Minister Furbert concluded, "Once again, on behalf of the Government of Bermuda and The Mirrors Programme, we extend a special thanks to the Mirrors Alumni & Friends Association (MAFA), Burrows & Lightbourne, Convex Re, and all the special volunteers and honourees."
