Ministry of Education - Prospect Primary Playground Repairs

The Ministry of Education would like to provide the public with an update of the status of the Prospect Primary playground equipment.

As part of ongoing school repairs and maintenance schedule, the Department of Education is currently working on repairs to the Prospect Primary school playground.

The Department’s facility section and the Ministry of Public Works Buildings Team conducted a condition survey on the entire grounds at Prospect Primary. Following this assessment, the playground equipment was deemed to be unsafe. As a result, a decision was made to tape off the equipment.

We can advise the repair works to the playground equipment at Prospect Primary is scheduled to commence on 20 December and will be completed in time for the new school term in January. In addition to the repairs to the playground equipment, PVC pipe borders will be installed at the perimeters of the playground. The borders will be installed to hold the 65 tons of granite sand which is utilized as safe protective surfacing.

We are committed to providing safe school environments, including all school buildings.  As mentioned at the start of the school year, our Facilities Team works throughout the year to maintain and carryout necessary repairs to all school buildings.
