The Minister of Youth, Social Development, and Seniors, The Hon. Tinée Furbert, JP, MP, welcomed seniors for the annual Senior’s Tea hosted by the Ageing and Disability Services at the Open Door Christian Assembly on Friday, June 7th, 2024.
Minister Tinée Furbert said, “The annual Senior’s Tea is a wonderful event to look forward to during the year which provides a space for our elderly to establish new connections, gain access to resources, and enjoy the company of friends. During the event, I addressed the importance of connection and community playing a major role in the lives of our seniors. We remain committed to hosting this event in celebration those who were integral in laying the foundations of our island home and to deliver key information on aging well.
“On behalf of the Government of Bermuda, I want to thank Ageing and Disability Services for their dedicated work to create a welcoming space for our seniors. I hope it was especially helpful to receive informative presentations from local organisations, Action on Alzheimer’s and Dementia (AAD) and NorthStar Dementia. We thank our community partners in supporting our mandate to provide greater access to services and care for our elderly population.”
