Minister Tinee Furbert Unveils The National 18+ Youth Conference

Bermuda National 18+ Conference

Minister of Youth, Social Development, and Seniors Tinee Furbert is excited to announce the launching of the iView National 18+ Youth Conference.

Organized by the Office of Youth Affairs (TOYA), this first-time event started on July 15th and will run until July  21st, seeking to bridge the gap between young adults in Bermuda and the policymakers dedicated to their welfare. Through a week of engagement, the iView Conference offers a platform for Bermudians aged 18+ to voice their ideas, concerns, and solutions. The conference includes activities designed to gather meaningful feedback and foster dialogue.

Go Viral!, an online engagement series, runs from July 15th - 18th,  encouraging young adults to join the conversation online. By following @TOYAbda and @Bermudayouthconnect on Instagram, Facebook, and X, participants can engage with thought-provoking questions, including the cost of living, education and employment, anti-social behavior, and diversity and inclusion.

Friday, July 19th, TOYA will host 'Happy Hour Invasions' at popular happy hour venues across the island. These brief yet engaging interactions aim to inform young adults about the conference and invite them to share their perspectives.

Saturday, July 20th, radio personality Alex Symone will host 'County Couch' at the Eastern Counties Cricket game at St. David's Cricket Club. Attendees can participate in discussions on key conference topics. There will also be fun activities, giveaways, and an opportunity to learn more about TOYA's efforts.

Sunday, July 21st, the main event at Ocean View Golf Course, features a brunch designed to inspire and educate. The iView Conference, Brunch, and Day Party will highlight young Bermudians making significant contributions to our community as they lead the discussions.

The Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, Minister Tinee Furbert, highlighted the significance of the iView Conference, stating, "This is a unique opportunity for Bermuda's young adults to influence the programs and services that affect their lives. We are committed to listening and learning from their experiences and invite all young Bermudians to participate in this pivotal event that can help shape the future of our community. The event is free of charge.
