Minister of Social Development and Seniors Attends Data Privacy Tea Party for Seniors

“The Government remains committed to strengthening areas of legislation and policy that will positively enhance the lives of our seniors; as we understand we all are progressing towards becoming a senior one day.” said the Minister of Social Development and Seniors the Hon. Tinee Furbert JP, MP.

“As the world is rapidly changing, technology continues to advance, and I know firsthand how many seniors feel overwhelmed and a bit intimidated at times.”

“With the rise in technology use, online scams seek to exploit seniors financially. We wish to remind those who feel suspicious about scams or have been a victim of a financial scam to contact the Bermuda Police Service and your Bank at your earliest opportunity. The earlier the bank is informed, the greater the chance they have to recover your funds.”

To report cyber crimes, call 211, email 211@bps.bm or report online at https://portal.police.bm

Minister Furbert concluded, “On behalf of the Government of Bermuda, I would like to thank the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for organising such a resourceful event and to all of our seniors, we wish you the very best as you develop your privacy defense.”
