The Minister of Education, the Hon. Crystal Caesar, JP, visited CedarBridge Academy. The visit highlighted the school’s innovative Signature Learning Programmes (SLPs) and the Modern Languages trip to Panama, and provided an opportunity for students and staff to showcase the dynamic educational experiences available at CBA.
“CedarBridge Academy’s Signature Learning Programmes demonstrate a strong, deliberate commitment to delivering a balanced, future-focused education that integrates academic excellence with technical and vocational skills development. Initiatives such as the Panama language immersion experience, together with the wide range of hands-on technical programmes, clearly illustrate how the education system is preparing students to compete and succeed in a global economy. These efforts reflect the Ministry’s ongoing priority to expand experiential learning opportunities and ensure that all students are equipped with the competencies, adaptability, and global perspective required for the workforce of today and tomorrow,” said Minister of Education, the Hon. Crystal Caesar, JP.
The engagement visit began with a presentation hosted by the Foreign Languages Department, during which students warmly welcomed Minister Caesar and Mrs Robinson in Spanish and shared their enthusiasm for language learning and cultural exchange. During the session, Minister Caesar spoke with students about her overseas experiences as an exchange student further encouraging students to value learning additional languages and to develop a global perspective. Students then delivered a video and photo presentation highlighting experiences from this year’s and last year’s Panama trips. Through personal testimonials, students reflected on the programme’s educational and cultural impact, with many expressing a strong desire to return to Panama in the future. The presentation concluded with students presenting a token of appreciation to Minister Caesar and the Ministry of Education in recognition of their invaluable support in providing students with these unique learning opportunities.
Following the presentation, Minister Caesar and Mrs Levyette Robinson, Acting Assistant Director – Curriculum and Assessment and Education Officer for Foreign Languages Education, visited a range of classrooms and learning spaces across the campus. The visit also gave the Minister the opportunity to interact with students and staff and to gain firsthand insight into the innovative teaching and experiential learning that define CedarBridge Academy’s Signature Learning Programmes. Student work, including agricultural show entries and practical demonstrations, further illustrated the breadth of talent and achievement across the school community.
Programmes highlighted during the tour included web production, robotics, technical skills, engineering and construction drafting, environmental management, culinary arts, barbering and personal care, creative technologies, carpentry, automotive technologies, textile marketing, game design, and computer science.
The tour was facilitated by CedarBridge Academy’s Head and Deputy Head Prefects alongside Principal Caesar, providing an opportunity for the Minister to observe students actively engaged in hands-on, career-focused learning experiences that reflect the school’s commitment to innovation and experiential education.
