The London Office is pleased to invite applications from Bermudian graduates for an internship placed within the Government of Bermuda London Office.
This distinguished programme offers an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to, and learn from, the Government’s strategic work across the United Kingdom and Europe working with the Government’s Brussels Office.
The London Office is Bermuda’s formal representation in the UK and a central hub for engagement with diplomatic partners. The Office sits at the intersection of policymaking, international negotiation, political advocacy, and diaspora engagement.
The Government of Bermuda London Office Internship Programme was designed to immerse Bermudian graduates in the Bermuda Public Service to work in the heart of Bermuda’s international relationships. Providing substantive exposure to UK and EU governmental diplomatic, and private‑sector environments. Interns will contribute directly to the Government’s wide‑ranging portfolio overseas, which includes:
- Representation and Diplomacy: Supporting Bermuda’s engagement with the UK Government, UK Parliament, the EU and Overseas Territory Governments; participating in high‑level policy forums; and contributing to the defence and promotion of Bermuda’s interests in priority areas. Former interns have highlighted participation in Joint Ministerial Council preparations as a defining experience demonstrating the Office’s central role in UK–Overseas Territory diplomacy.
- Consular and Diaspora Support: Assisting Bermudians residing or travelling abroad by contributing to the Office’s consular functions and public‑facing services.
- Engagement with Multilateral and International Bodies: including United Kingdom Overseas Territories Association - where Bermuda has held leadership roles - and participating in preparations for engagements with actors such as the United Nations.
- Government & Private Sector Interface: Observing how Bermuda advances its reputation as a trusted jurisdiction internationally, including efforts related to transparency, investment, and regulatory cooperation. Former interns have stressed the meaningfulness of this work in safeguarding Bermuda’s global standing.
This internship is more than work experience - it is an intensive, first‑hand engagement with the real-world machinery of international governance, diplomacy, and policy development.
Interns are expected to work closely with senior officials, attend diplomatic and governmental engagements, and support priority project portfolios.
