Government House gardens to open this summer on Sunday afternoons

Government House Bermuda

Government House Gardens will be open on Sunday afternoons from Sunday 24 April until Sunday 4 September. This will be the third summer that the gardens have been opened to the public and it is hoped that they will again be enjoyed by everyone.

Entry and exit will be via the North Gate on North Shore Road. Visitors are encouraged to come on foot, by pedal bike or use the No 11 bus, which stops near the gate.  Parking will not be available in the grounds.

The gardens will be open from 12noon to 5pm each Sunday, but will not be open over the Cup Match weekend. Families are encouraged to come, relax and enjoy the grounds and to picnic.

Visitors are asked to respect the grounds, especially the vegetable gardens being run by students from the three Pembroke Parish primary schools: Victor Scott, West Pembroke and Northlands. They are also asked not to bring dogs.

The Governor said:  “This year there is an added bonus for visitors to Government House – the opportunity to see the new commemorative tree plaques which have been specially commissioned for the grounds and funded by the Friends of Government House.  The installation of these plaques has occurred after a comprehensive survey of all the ceremonial trees planted in Government House grounds. The plaques will give the visitor a much greater sense of the history of the grounds of Government House.”
