The Ministry of National Security advised this evening that it is aware of messages circulating that contain unofficial weather commentary about Hurricane Melissa.
A Ministry spokesperson said, “While we understand the public’s concern and desire for storm related information, we strongly urge residents to rely only on official information and technical guidance from the Bermuda Weather Service (BWS) and the Emergency Measures Organisation (EMO).
“These agencies are the authoritative sources for Bermuda’s weather forecasts, warnings, and public safety guidance. They are staffed by technical professionals who use verified data and established protocols to ensure the most accurate information is shared. Please avoid sharing or acting on unofficial messages that may contain speculation or inaccuracies.”
