The Disney Magic arrived in Bermuda from New York, a departure location unique to Bermuda, and departed Sunday, 7 October. This was the first of five calls to Bermuda scheduled for 2018. In 2019, Disney Cruise Line will be returning for five additional calls.

As is customary with Disney Cruise Lines this inaugural visit included a plaque and key ceremony as well as a celebration event.

The plaque and key ceremony was hosted by the Disney Magic’s Captain Fabian and Captain Mickey, Russell S. Daya, Executive Director, Marine & Port Operations, Port Development & Itinerary Planning and Barda Kosovrasti with Disney Cruise Line.

Remarks were delivered by Acting Premier and Minister of Transport and Regulatory Affairs, The Hon. Walter H. Roban JP MP, and Carmen Tucker representing the West End Development Corporation (WEDCO).

Acting Premier, Minister Roban commented, “I am delighted that after many years of discussion with Disney Cruise Line, that Disney was finally able to come to our shores. It is an honour to welcome Captain Fabian, Disney Cruise Line executives, and the Disney Magic crew and passengers.”

Minister Roban also acknowledged his cabinet colleagues and senators who joined the festivities along with a special mention to The US Consul General, Mrs. Constance Dierman and thanked her for joining the welcoming delegation.

The plaque and key presentation was preceded by a celebration event held alongside Heritage Wharf, which included a Marine and Ports tug salute, Gombey performances and the BTA Ambassadors who were out in full force to greet all the passengers.

The Disney Magic ship is acclaimed for its family-centered attractions featuring lively deck parties, upbeat musical performances and fireworks displayed at sea and themed kids clubs. There are also options for adults including adult only pools, spas and club lounges.
