Bermuda's public schools are inviting parents and prospective students to a series of Preschool and Middle School Open Houses in advance of registration for the 2024 - 2025 school year.
An Education Department spokesperson said, "The Open Houses will take place at the school sites (with the exception of Lyceum Preschool), as per the schedule posted on the Ministry of Education web sites and respective schools' social media and webpages, and as summarized below:
* Eastern Zone schools - Tuesday, November 7
* Central Zone schools - Wednesday, November 8
* Western Zone schools - Thursday, November 9
The events take place at the schools between 9 am and 12 noon, with the exception of Sandys Secondary Middle School -whose open house will take place between 4:30 and 6:30 pm on November 9 - and Lyceum whose Open House will be represented by a video placed on the school's website.
Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Kalmar Richards said: "We invite parents and guardians to visit our schools and meet school leaders and key staff members. Ask questions and leave confident that your children will be in good hands."
Registration will be held November 27 - December 15 , 2023.
Registration for Primary Schools will follow the completion of the ongoing Rescoring Process relating to Parish Primary Schools which was announced in July 2023. Additional information will be provided later.
Parents who plan on registering their children in public schools for the first time are especially urged to attend the open house events.
