Cultural Affairs Best of Bermuda Award 2019 BDA Day Parade

The Minister of Community Affairs and Sports, the Hon. Lovitta Foggo is pleased to highlight that the 2019 Bermuda Day Parade has received the 2020 Best In Bermuda Award for Cultural Event of the Year in the People & Places category.

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ win is currently being featured in this summer’s issue of The Bermudian magazine.

Minister Foggo said, “This was such welcome news against the backdrop of all that is happening, and we’re so proud of all the hard work that went into the 2019 Bermuda Day Parade. Special thanks goes to our entire team at the Department of and Cultural Affairs, as well as to all of those who participated in the Bermuda Day Parade. From the dazzling costumes and energy showcased by the various dance groups, to the wonderful display of tradition from the Gombey troupes closing out the parade, my recollection was that it was a fabulous day. And it seems that the parade’s displays of tradition, pageantry and excitement also resonated with those who cast votes in the Best of Bermuda Awards. I extend my thanks to all those who voted and I extend congratulations to all who made the 2019 Bermuda Day Parade a memorable and enjoyable occasion.”
