In a demonstration of unity and compassion, the Cabinet Office will be illuminated in purple light on Wednesday, October 15, and Thursday, October 16, 2025, in recognition of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, endorsing the message that abuse has no place in our homes or our communities.
To support domestic abuse survivors, the public is invited to do their part and participate in this meaningful campaign by:
- Wearing purple;
- Engaging in compassionate and thoughtful conversations about surviving domestic abuse;
- Sharing resources that offer help and protection; and
- Reaching out to someone who may be struggling, even a simple check in can make a difference.
A Cabinet Office spokesperson said, “We are pleased to stand in solidarity for such a worthy cause by bringing attention to this critical issue that affects our community. Every time we choose to support, acknowledge, and embrace victims of domestic abuse, we are providing a lifeline to those who have no voice or who live in fear. Tomorrow and Thursday, we will do our small part by shining a light on the issue, which we hope can help empower survivors.”
