Buses to Use Southampton Railway Trail for PGA Golf Tournament

The Ministry of Public Works advises motorists that the Southampton Railway Trail, from George’s Bay Road to Tribe Road No 5, will be made one-way from Monday, 28th October to Sunday, 3rd November 2019.

This one-way system is being implemented to accommodate bus traffic for the PGA Bermuda Championship Golf Tournament being held at the Port Royal Golf Course.

Only buses will be permitted to travel on the Railway Trail between the hours 5:00 am until 8:00 pm during the scheduled dates.

Pedestrian and Pedal Bicycles Restriction

This section of the Railway Trail from George’s Bay Road to Tribe Road 5, Southampton will be prohibited to Pedestrians and Pedal Bicycles whilst buses are driven on this section of roadway. Pedestrians are therefore requested to use the Middle Road sidewalk and avoid using this section of the railway trail.

Vehicle Restrictions

Motorists and motorcycles will not be permitted to use this section of the Railway Trail whilst buses are travelling on it. Our aim is to avoid the potential for collision with buses. All motorists must avoid using this section of the Railway Trail during the time that buses are in operation.

The Ministry of Public Works encourages the full cooperation of pedestrians and the motoring public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.

Should there be any questions regarding this one-way traffic flow system, please direct queries to the attention of Structural Engineer, Mr. Ricardo Graham-Ward 501-3122.
