Bermudian Cultural Entrepreneurs Invited to take Part in CARIFESTA

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs wishes to invite Bermudian cultural entrepreneurs to take part in the CARIFESTA XIII Grand Market and Buyers’ Shopping Mall in Barbados from August 19 to 26, 2017.

"CARIFESTA - the world’s largest gathering of Caribbean arts and culture - is an opportunity for Caribbean cultural entrepreneurs to showcase their goods and services to the world," explained the Department's Director Mrs. Heather Whalen. "One way persons can market their products during the regional arts festival, is by taking part in the Grand Market, which is only one of many, many aspects of CARIFESTA. Individuals will be able to sell a variety of items - from locally-authored books, to rum cakes and spicy jams, to banana leaf dolls and paintings - the possibilities are endless. Think of it like a giant Harbour Nights, with vendors and buyers from all across the Caribbean."

The theme of CARIFESTA XIII is “Asserting Our Culture, Celebrating Ourselves”, and the programme of performing arts (music, theatre, dance, poetry); visual arts, fashion, food and literature, will represent a melting pot of cultural expression from several participating CARICOM countries.
