The Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne M. Caines, will join the Department of Corrections in observing “Corrections Week” from May 25 – May 31.
This year, several events are scheduled which includes a team of Corrections staff participating in the May 25th Marathon Derby, a special church service at the St. Paul’s AME Church on May 27th, and a Seniors Tea on May 29th at St. Paul’s Church Hall in Paget (time to be provided).
Minister Caines who encouraged the public’s support of the upcoming Corrections Week activities said, “The men and women in the Department of Corrections continue to go above and beyond to protect and serve, at times under difficult circumstances. We are appreciative of their commitment to the Department and proud of the work they do on behalf of our community. Corrections Week provides us with a wonderful opportunity to show our support and acknowledge their contributions.”
On an annual basis, Corrections Week is observed by various jurisdictions. It is aimed at recognizing the work of Corrections Officers and support personnel in prison facilities.

- May 25th – Customs Officers participating in the Marathon Derby and providing a Corrections relay team water stop
- May 27th – Church at St. Paul’s A.M.E. 11.00 am followed by a Games Day at the Prison Officers Recreation Club (PORC).
- May 28th – Warwick Facility Appreciation day and Bowling Lanes 7.00 pm
- May 29th – Senior’s Tea at St. Paul’s Church in Paget
- May 30th – Ocean View Golf Course 9.00 am Golf Tournament shotgun start
- May 31st – Clearwater Scavenger Hunt and Staff Fun Day Beach
