Department of E-Commerce launches the 2017 Edition of IT Career Guide

The Department of E-Commerce has launched the 2017 IT Career Guide targeted towards students seeking a career path in the field of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).

Contained in the Guide is information on the various ICT-related careers in Bermuda, as well as local IT courses, scholarships available, and interviews with Bermudians in the field.

This issue of the IT Career Guide features a number of profiles of Bermudians who are making their mark in the profession, such as Coral Wells who was recently selected as Bermuda’s Inspiring Woman in ICT.

The Guide also provides information for those who are thinking about exploring ICT as a career path - from a road map of middle and high school classes to the value of personality tests.

The Guide details different methods of IT study, from using the world’s leading universities to e-learning opportunities, and how social media can assist.

Minister of Economic Development Dr the Hon. E. Grant Gibbons, JP, MP said: “In this issue of the IT Career Guide, you will see articles that show the diverse palette of career options available to ICT students and read about the rich variety of professionals that use ICT at work.” He added: “This is your Guide. Please use it. Take charge of your career and prepare yourself for a future in ICT.”
