The Premier and Minister of National Security, the Hon. Michael H. Dunkley, JP MP, attended the annual Joint Ministerial Council in London from 29th November through 3rd December. The annual meeting brings the Leaders of the UK Overseas Territories together to engage in discussions with UK Ministers of Government on issues of concern to the Territories and the UK.
While in the UK, the Premier also attended a luncheon with Insurance Leaders, a breakfast with UK Parliamentary representatives, a reception for students and young people working in the UK, and a tourism-focused media breakfast. In addition, the Premier met with a number of UK and International media to discuss Bermuda's future prospects.
The visit was facilitated by Bermuda's London Office, and the Premier was accompanied by the Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance, the Hon. E.T. (Bob) Richards, Assistant Financial Secretary Wayne Brown, the Director of the London Office Kimberley Durrant, and the Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Derrick Binns.
