About Us
Registrar of Companies
Serves as the central authority for the administration and regulation of business entities within Bermuda. Its primary services include the registration and compliance management of various corporate structures, such as companies limited by shares or guarantee, limited liability companies (LLCs), and partnerships. The ROC also handles name reservations, business licensing, and the registration of real estate agents and brokers. Through its online registry system, Catalyst, the department facilitates the entire entity lifecycle, from initial incorporation and continuations to mergers, amalgamations, and eventual dissolutions or striking off.
Beyond basic registration, the ROC provides critical regulatory oversight and transparency services to maintain the integrity of Bermuda's business sector. This includes managing the Beneficial Ownership register to ensure compliance with international standards. The department also acts as the statutory supervisory authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) compliance for Dealers in High Value Goods. Additionally, the ROC oversees corporate liquidations and individual bankruptcies, providing guidance on voluntary and compulsory insolvency processes while maintaining public access to statutory records and entity status information.
