The Ministry of Education has received the 2026 Cambridge assessment results, which are currently progressing through the Department of Education’s established review and reporting process.
The Department is presently reviewing and compiling the results to ensure that the information is appropriately analyzed and presented before being shared with schools, families and the wider community.
As part of the established process, the results will first be shared with school principals, who will have an opportunity to review the information relevant to their schools. Principals will then engage with classroom teachers to ensure that educators understand the results and are able to consider the information within the context of student learning, instructional practice and areas for continued improvement.
Following this internal review, parents and guardians will receive the individual results for their children through their respective schools. This sequencing ensures that families have the opportunity to receive information about their child’s performance directly from their school and, where necessary, discuss the results with the appropriate educators.
Once the school and parent engagement process has been completed, the Ministry will publish the system-wide 2026 Cambridge results on the Ministry of Education website, continuing its commitment to transparency and public accountability.
Minister of Education, the Hon. Diallo Rabain, JP, MP, said, “Our focus remains firmly on improving outcomes for every student in the Bermuda Public School System. Cambridge assessments provide us with important information that must be carefully reviewed and understood within the appropriate context. The value of these results is not simply in reporting numbers, but in how we use the information to identify areas of strength, address gaps in learning and strengthen teaching and learning across our schools.”
Minister Rabain continued, “It is equally important that our school leaders, teachers and parents have an opportunity to understand the results before they are released more broadly. Our principals and teachers are closest to our students and are best positioned to help families understand what the results mean for their children. Once that process has taken place, we will make the system-wide results publicly available as part of our continued commitment to transparency and accountability.”
The Ministry reminds the public that Cambridge Checkpoint assessments are diagnostic in nature and are intended to provide insight into students’ strengths and areas requiring further development. The information assists educators in identifying learning needs, informing instructional strategies and planning appropriate interventions and supports.
The Ministry and Department of Education remain committed to ensuring that student performance data is used purposefully to support continuous improvement across the Bermuda Public School System.
