CedarBridge Academy has transformed its students’ participation in the 2026 Bermuda Day Parade into a broader learning experience, demonstrating how hands-on activities can strengthen engagement in culture, creativity, practical skills and career-focused learning.
CedarBridge Academy Action Research Film documents the students’ preparation for and participation in the May parade, showcasing the learning and development that took place throughout the experience.
The film followed the students throughout the process, offering insight into the preparation required to take part in one of Bermuda’s major cultural events and highlighting the learning that took place along the way.
The project gave students an opportunity to engage in Project-Based Learning, deepening their knowledge and appreciation of Bermudian culture and demonstrating that experiences beyond the traditional classroom can be powerful opportunities for learning, personal growth and skill development.
The Minister of Education, the Hon. Diallo Rabain, said, “Through initiatives such as CedarBridge’s student involvement in the Bermuda Day Parade, the school is exploring how Project-Based Learning can help students make stronger connections between classroom instruction, practical skills, creativity, career pathways, and Bermuda’s culture and heritage.”
“The initiative is part of CedarBridge Academy’s Middle States Association Sustaining Excellence Action Research Project, which focuses on strengthening and expanding students’ experiences and increasing student achievement across all subject areas through cross-collaboration and the infusion of learning experiences facilitated through STEM, Trades & Professions, and the Arts.”
