Recruitment Drive - Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service

The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service will tomorrow commence a recruitment process for eleven (11) firefighters.

The Minister of National Security, Michael Weeks, said, “I am pleased that the recruitment process will begin. This will bolster the ranks of the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service. I would encourage women and men looking for a challenging and rewarding career of service to the community to apply.”

“It’s important to recognise the incredible job the BF&RS has done over the last two years throughout the pandemic.

“These women and men have been at the forefront of emergency response serving the public non-stop, often unseen, and the entire community appreciates their efforts.

Following the successful completion of the entrance assessments, recruits will embark on an extensive 22-week training course to prepare candidates for the rigours of the job.

Upon successful completion of the course, recruits will be qualified as both a Firefighter and an Emergency Medical Technician.

Minister Weeks concluded: “I am confident that the Service will attract high-quality candidates and that this will allow the organisation to go from strength to strength.”
