National Disaster Coordinator Steve Cosham Public Safety Remarks

Good afternoon,

As we have heard from Dr Guishard, Thursday evening and most of Friday will be windy with some strong guests. As such we do need to be mindful in our everyday business like riding bikes.

The EMO have a tentative meeting planned for Thursday afternoon, in case Hurricane Epsilon veers towards Bermuda and we have to take immediate action.

If this occurs the public will be notified immediately. In the meantime I urge everyone to check the forecast on the Bermuda Weather Service website at weather.bm so that we all keep up to date with the latest forecast and are not taken by surprise.

Hurricanes Paulette and Teddy should have taken down the weak trees and branches; if you find yourself without power, call Belco on 955 or report it using their website, and if a branch or tree does come down, please report this to Public Works. Thank you.
