On Monday, March 1st, the Minister of Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinee Furbert, JP, MP, was delighted to read the official Proclamation launching Social Work Month 2021.
Minister Furbert said, "I was honoured to be a part of the virtual launch of Bermuda's Social Work Month 2021. This year's theme is "Social Workers Are Essential," and it perfectly embodies the impact of this helping profession."
"The efforts of our Social Workers can be felt far and wide, especially through all they have done to heal our community during these times of a global pandemic, economic uncertainty, and a multitude of community challenges."
Minister Furbert concluded, "The care and compassion given by Social Workers play a critical role in the protection of the most vulnerable among us."
"I salute Bermuda's Social Workers, past and present, for their numerous heroic and selfless contributions to our community. For this month and beyond, I call upon all citizens to congratulate and celebrate our Social Workers."
