Holistic Wellness Community Chat 

The Ministry of Social Development and Seniors will host an online panel discussion entitled “Holistic Wellness, Community Chat” on Thursday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. live on Facebook, YouTube, CITV and Bernews.

Minister of Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinee Furbert, JP, MP said, “As a follow-up to our collaboration in March with professionals who work with persons with Dementia-related conditions, we received requests from caregivers and families to hold information sessions to discuss holistic health and well-being." 

“In response, we have invited professionals in the field to discuss the importance of maintaining your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. The intention is to empower family caregivers, care professionals, and the public on enhancing the quality of life for those in our community who need support living with cognitive change." 

“I am delighted to be joined by a panel of Holistic Wellness Professionals to discuss the importance of holistic health and community well-being.”

The panelists include:

  • Dr. Ayesha Peets-Talbot, BSc., MD, FAAP, DABIM, DABOM, Physician specialising in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Functional Medicine.
  • Scott Smith, Personal Trainer, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, YMCA Sports Conditioning Coach, and Bermuda College WITS Lecturer.
  • Salintae Tuzo, Counselor, Certified Life Coach, and Sickle Cell Anemia Warrior.
  • Dayla Burgess, Adult Clinical Counselor and Addiction Counselor.
  • LaTya Simmons, Social Worker and Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
  • Clare Panchaud, Holistic Health Coach and Aromatherapist.
  • Alicia Trott, Meditation Teacher, Reiki Practitioner, and Herbal Formulator.

Minister Furbert concluded, “As a reminder, each of us has a role to play in stopping the spread of the coronavirus. Follow Public Health guidelines, wear a mask, practice good hand hygiene, maintain physical distance and download the WeHealth Bermuda app. Do the research, talk with your doctor, and make an informed decision about getting the COVID-19 vaccine.”
