The Bermuda Post Office is proud to announce the release of a new commemorative stamp issue celebrating Bermuda art and the island’s vibrant artistic community. This special collection highlights works by six artists whose creativity reflects Bermuda’s natural beauty, marine environment, and cultural heritage.
Since the early 20th century, Bermuda has served as a source of inspiration for both local and visiting artists. Continuing this tradition, the featured artworks were submitted to the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art for its biennial Charman Prize in 2023. The theme of the competition, “The Local Seen; Bermuda, and Bermudians, in the Modern World,” invited artists to explore questions of identity and belonging through their work.
The stamp issue features works by Eli Cedrone, Morgan Dagata, Vaughronde’ Joseph & Lisa Philpott, Faraz Pourreza-Jorshari, Otto Trott, and Zo Wakefield. Each artist offers a unique perspective inspired by Bermuda’s landscape, marine environment, and cultural identity.
Minister for the Cabinet Office and Digital Innovation, the Hon. Diallo Rabain, said, “This commemorative stamp issue is a meaningful celebration of Bermuda’s rich artistic talent and cultural identity. Through the work of these gifted artists, we are able to showcase the beauty, diversity and evolving story of Bermuda to both residents and the wider world. Initiatives like this not only honour our creative community, but also reinforce the important role that art plays in preserving our heritage and shaping our national identity for future generations.”
Each piece in this collection represents an artistic response to the competition’s central question: What does it mean to be a local? To be a Bermudian? Through diverse styles and perspectives, the artworks capture the spirit of Bermuda while reflecting the evolving experiences of Bermudians in the modern world.
The Bermuda Art stamp issue will be available for purchase starting March 19, 2026. The Mint Set will be priced at $4.00, and the First Day Cover (FDC) will be available for $7.50. Orders may be pre-paid for collection or mailing on the day of issue at the Bermuda Post Office or any of its sub-post offices.
