SALT/Kracken Wyoming Blockchain Symposium 2025
The Premier, the Hon. E. David Burt, JP.MP., led a Bermuda delegation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to attend the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, held 18th - 21st August, 2025. This was an invitation-only event, hosted by SALT and Kraken, with support from the University of Wyoming's Centre for Blockchain and Digital Innovation. Accompanying the Premier to this event were representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Bermuda Monetary Authority, and the Bermuda Government Washington, DC office.
The Symposium, attended by more than 350 senior leaders, policy makers, regulators and investors, discussed the next phase of digital asset innovation, regulation, and public-private collaboration. The Premier appeared on the main stage for a fireside chat entitled "Bermuda's Approach to Digital Finance", highlighting Bermuda's leadership and regulatory framework.
Building on the 2021 Digital Assets "Memorandum of Understanding" between the Bermuda Monetary Authority and the Wyoming Division of Banking, the visit also focused on strengthening ties with U.S. federal officials in the new administration, and with Wyoming State Leaders.
The Premier and delegation met with senior U.S. officials, including Michelle Bowman and Christopher J. Waller of the Federal Reserve. They also engaged with Wyoming leaders such as U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis, representatives of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission, and the Wyoming Legislature, alongside meetings with global leaders of licensed and prospective Bermuda digital finance companies.
