The Premier, the Hon. E. David Burt JP, MP, was invited by the UK Government to attend the State Funeral of  Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.

The Premier was accompanied by the Government of Bermuda Representative to the UK, Ms Kimberley Durrant, for the Lying-in-State on 17 September at Westminster Hall.

On 18 September, the Premier attended His Majesty the King’s Reception at Buckingham Palace.

On 19 September, the Premier joined the Governor, Her Excellency Rena Lalgie, for the State Funeral at Westminster Abbey.  Following the funeral, the Premier attended a reception hosted by the UK Foreign Secretary.

On the evening of the 19th, the Premier also held an interview with the British Broadcasting Company.  During the interview, he reflected on his experience at the state funeral, meeting the Queen at Buckingham Palace in 2019, and what her life and service as monarch meant to the people of Bermuda.

The Premier returned to Bermuda on 21 September.
