LARGE GROUP EXEMPTION:

BERMUDA INDUSTRIAL UNION MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS

Whereas the Minister of National Security considers that the proposed Bermuda Industrial Union Membership Meetings are gatherings justifying an exemption from the prohibition in regulation 5 (1) and (2) of the Public Health (COVID-19 Emergency Powers) Regulations 2020 on groups of more than fifty persons assembling;

Now therefore, the Minister grants an exemption under regulation 5 (4) of those Regulations permitting a group of more than fifty persons to assemble on Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm at the Fairmont Southampton Hotel, 101 South Road, Southampton Parish with the following conditions:

Conditions:

1. All persons attending the meetings must wear a face mask and maintain appropriate physical distancing at all times.

1. Maximum of 350 persons per meeting.
    
2. Meeting times: 9:00 am and 1:00 pm
    
3. Meeting room to be cleaned and sanitized between meetings.
    
4. Organizers to record details of persons attending the meetings for purpose of contact tracing. 
    
5. The Bermuda Police Service / Ministry of National Security Official have right to attend and observe adherence to the conditions as prescribed above.
