Community and Cultural Affairs Launches New Website

On the eve of Bermuda Day, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs has launched a new website at www.communityandculture.bm that will serve as a hub for information about events, programmes, and educational resources.

The new site includes links to numerous cultural videos on the Department’s YouTube channel, information on grants and sponsorships via the Bermuda Arts Council, downloadable study guides and education kits, and information on upcoming lectures and events such as the Bermuda International Gombey Festival and the Bermudian Heartbeats Series.

The site will also provide guidance on how to participate in developmental programmes such as the Cultural Apprenticeship Programme and the Writer-in-Residence.

“This website, launched on the eve of Bermuda Day, serves as a wonderful way to close out Heritage Month – with this new site functioning as a tool to assist the public in learning more about our culture and heritage in an increasingly digital environment,” explained the Hon. Lovitta Foggo JP, MP, Minister of Labour, Community Affairs and Sports.  “We also want to meet the young people where they are.  This website, which will work in concert with the Department’s Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages, serves as a platform to provide this kind of community engagement.”

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the site and sign up for the Department’s newsletter to receive regular information about offerings.
