Pursuant to Sections 30 and 21 of the Electricity Act 2016, the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda (“RA”) hereby gives notice that, an application has been made to the RA for the transfer of control of a Bulk Generation and Transmission, Distribution and Retail Licensee. A Bulk Generation Licence authorises the licence holder to engage in the bulk generation of electricity in Bermuda, while the Transmission, Distribution and Retail Licence authorises the licensee to engage in the transmission, distribution and retailing of electricity in Bermuda.

Pursuit to the proposed transaction, Algonquin Power and Utilities Corp., a Canada based company, seeks to become the sole owner of Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited, the regulated subsidiary of Ascendant Group Limited.
