Bermuda Job Market Employment Briefs

Today the Minister for the Cabinet Office, the Hon. Wayne L. Furbert JP, MP, released the 2019 edition of the Bermuda Job Market Employment Briefs publication from the Department of Statistics.

Minister Furbert said, “The Employment Briefs provides a broad count of all jobs in the Bermuda labour market by selected demographics, industrial and occupational groups.  It examines employment changes between the years 2017 and 2018.”

“The publication shows that total jobs in the economy rose from 33,659 in 2017 to 33,810 in 2018. The Minister also stated that the Hotel sector recorded increased employment to the tune of 186 filled posts.  Filled jobs for Service Workers and Shop Market Sales Workers increased by 138. The median gross annual income for employees who worked in establishments with ten or more filled jobs  climbed by $1,088 from $64,250 to $65,338.”
