100 Year Armistice Day Anniversary

The Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne M. Caines, JP, MP, is encouraging the public’s participation in the upcoming events commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The public will be aware that leading up to the 11 November Armistice Day Holiday, also known as Remembrance Day, a series of activities have been planned by various organizations.

Today, the Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne M. Caines, said, “Bermuda will join other nations around the world in recognizing the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day. The public will be aware that on 11 November, 1918, at 11.00 a.m., World War 1 ended. This day now commemorates the signing of the resolution between the Allies and Germany – a moment that changed the course of world history. Bermuda had veterans and volunteers who served with the Allied forces in WWI, and we are obliged to remember and honour their sacrifice and their service.”
