Today, the Head of the Public Service, Dr. Derrick Binns announced the following Permanent Secretary appointments.

Mr. Collingwood Anderson has been appointed as the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of National Security.

Mr. Anderson is a former Assistant Director in the Insurance Supervision Department with the Bermuda Monetary Authority.

Previously, Collin was Director of the Health Insurance Department in the Ministry of Health at Bermuda Government, with oversight responsibility for the Government’s health insurance plans (such as FutureCare and HIP). Prior to this, he was Assistant Director for Health Insurance in the Department of Social Insurance at the Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Christopher Farrow has been appointed as the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism. Mr. Farrow was the Chief Surveyor within the Ministry of Public Works.

Mr. Farrow returned to Bermuda in 1991 and joined the Land Valuation Department. By 1995 he had been promoted to Director, and in 2013 he was promoted to the Ministry of Public Works as Chief Surveyor. During that time he’s had opportunities in other Government Departments, including serving as the Acting Director of Planning, the Acting Director of the Information Technology Office and a number of Acting Permanent Secretary posts.

Ms. Aideen Ratteray Pryse, who served as the Acting Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Transport and Regulatory Affairs was confirmed in that post earlier this year. Trained as an urban planner, Ms. Ratteray Prsye obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Geography at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec and a Master’s in Planning at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario. She worked, initially, at the Bermuda Department of Planning and was the Assistant Director (Administration & Control) when she left in 1999 to join the third sector. In 2013, she re-joined the public service as Director of Planning.

Meanwhile, Mr. Randy Rochester who recently served as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism, will serve as the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Public Works.

All new assignments take effect today Monday, 10^th September.
