A number of queries have been received by the Ministry of Tourism, Transport and Municipalities in respect of  media speculation on the details of contracts for the delivery of buses. 
The Ministry has had a longstanding contractual relationship with a Belgian company for the supply of public  transportation buses.  The Belgian company is a small management company that outsources all of its manufacturing retainers to subcontractors.  The Ministry became engaged in a contractual dispute with the Belgian company relating to the supply, delivery and  payment for buses that the Ministry had ordered.  
In April 2015, a settlement agreement was reached between the Ministry and the bus supplier that called for the  delivery of 4 new buses and concluded the dispute regarding payment for buses already delivered. However, disputes continued regarding supply, delivery, and payment for the new buses ordered.
The Ministry is currently undertaking a review of all accounting on the bus contracts and it is premature to  comment because the review is ongoing. At this time, the review has not revealed any missing public funds. Government cannot prejudice its position in relation to potential litigation to enforce its rights against the Belgian supplier and will not comment  on matters that may be subject to adjudication in the courts.
