Fill the Gap: Participate in the 2026 Census
Every household in Bermuda has a role to play in shaping the future of our island, and one of the most important ways to do that is by participating in the Census.
The Census helps us better understand who we are, how we live, and what our communities need. It provides essential information about Bermuda’s population, households, and living conditions, helping Government, businesses, community organisations, and other decision-makers plan effectively for the community.
When residents participate in the Census, they help ensure that decisions are based on accurate and up-to-date information. This matters because the data collected can influence planning for housing, education, healthcare, employment, community services, and other areas that affect our daily lives.
For the Government, Census information supports stronger policymaking. It helps identify trends, gaps, and needs across the island. For businesses, it provides insight into communities, the workforce, and future opportunities. For non-profit and community organisations, it helps guide programmes and services that address the realities residents face.
In short, the Census helps Bermuda plan with purpose.
Participation is also about fairness. The more complete the Census is, the clearer the picture of Bermuda becomes. Every household counted helps ensure that the needs of families, seniors, young people, workers, and communities across the island are properly understood. When people do not participate, it can leave gaps in the information used to make important decisions.
On May 11, 2026, households were mailed a letter with login instructions to the questionnaire at census.gov.bm. If you are missing your census letter or your e-Census password, please email the Department of Statistics at census@gov.bm or call 297-7761:

Weekends between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The first round of Census submissions will be completed online from May 21 to July 31, 2026. Households are encouraged to submit as soon as possible during this period.
Completing the Census online is the easiest way to participate and can also help avoid the need for someone to visit your home to interview your household. After July 31, 2026, the remaining interviews will be facilitated by an interviewer.
It is also important for residents to know that Census information is confidential. Individual responses are not published. The information collected is used in aggregate for statistical purposes, helping to inform planning and decision-making while protecting personal privacy.
The Census belongs to all of us. It is an opportunity for every household to contribute to Bermuda’s future by helping to ensure that the decisions made today reflect the needs of the people who live here.
We encourage all residents to complete their Census submission online at census.gov.bm as soon as possible between May 21 and July 31, 2026.
Your participation matters. Your household matters. Your voice matters.
