Today, the Ministry of Economy and Labour released the November 2025 Retail Sales Index publication. 

November’s volume of retail sales index decreased 1.7 per cent compared to last year.  In value terms, retail sales increased to an estimated $108.9 million. 

Five of the seven sectors recorded year-over-year volume index decreases in November 2025:  

• The sales volume for Food Stores decreased 0.9 per cent.
• Liquor Stores’ sales volume decreased 5.4 per cent.
• Service Stations’ sales volume fell 2.6 per cent.
• The sales volume for Building Material Stores decreased 15.5 per cent.
• The sales volume at Apparel Stores decreased 5.4 per cent.

In contrast, the sales volume at Motor Vehicle Stores increased 22.3 per cent over November 2024 and the All Other Store Types sector (comprising stores selling household items, furniture, appliances, electronics, pharmaceuticals and tourist-related goods), sales volume remained unchanged.

Selected overseas declarations decreased 7.5 per cent compared to November 2024.
