Garden waste – public drop off
The Marsh Folly Composting Facility has a public drop off area which is free to residents who would like to drop off compostable garden waste. The public drop off is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Compostable waste from commercial sources must be taken across the site weighbridge and on to the main compost disposal facility.
Compost collection
Free compost is available for collection on most days from the drop off area. Be sure to bring a bucket with you to make transportation easy.
Marsh Folly Composting Facility
With 365 growing days, Bermuda produces thousands of tonnes of garden waste each year. The Marsh Folly Composting Facility was established 32 years ago to help produce a useful end-product: compost. Marsh Folly’s compost has been used in numerous landscaping projects across the island. Some may recall the Kindly Field Road verge was a rocky, dusty path before the application of compost and grass seed 20 years ago. Today it is a lush, green area enjoyed for outdoor recreation year-round.
