Applications Open for 2025 DWD Bursary Awards

The Department of Workforce Development is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Bursary Awards, a one-time educational award designed to support individuals in advancing their studies and professional development.
The Bursary Awards provide funding support for:
- Short-duration programmes
- Single-course completion with a local institute or organisation
- Associate's Degrees
- Master's Degrees
- Professionally recognised and accredited diplomas, certificates, or designations
Unlike traditional scholarships tied to specific fields, the Bursary Awards are open to all areas of study. This flexibility allows individuals to explore new subjects, upskill, retrain, and enhance their professional abilities.
The funds must be used for tuition or course-related fees. Applicants must be registered or enrolled by March 31, 2026, and complete the course by March 31, 2027.
Director, Malika Cartwright says, “This award is about giving individuals the opportunity to take the next step in their education and career journey, whether it's obtaining a certification, pursuing an Associate's degree or finishing the final stages of a graduate programme.”
The application window will run from October 15 to December 15, 2025, replacing the previous rolling submissions with a fixed period. This structured approach ensures a streamlined selection process and more efficient allocation of resources.
Applicants can submit their applications by visiting www.dwd.bm, selecting the Resources Tab, then the Forms Tab, scrolling down to the Funding and Scholarships category, and then clicking on the 2025 Bursary Awards Application Form.
