The Hon Owen K Darrell, JP MP, Minister of Tourism & Transport, Culture & Sport attended the CONCACAF Qualifiers Second Round for FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualification match between the host country, Curacao and Bermuda on 9 September 2025. The Minister was accompanied by Permanent Secretary Shivon Washington to support the Bermuda team on its journey in this qualifying round. 

While in Curacao, Minister Darrell met with Prime Minister, HE Gilmar Pisas, who invited the Minister to walk with the Curacao's Minister's as an honoured guest in Curacao's Opening of Parliament Celebration.  The Minister also met with the Ministers of Transport Spatial Planning and Transport; Social Development, Labour and Welfare; Administration Planning and Services; Economic Development, and Education Science, Culture and Sport. The Minister's accommodation was paid for by the Government of Curacao.
